Lumant gives you control over how sales tax is handled for your customers. You can choose whether taxes should be collected automatically and how prices are presented at checkout.
In this guide, we'll show you how to configure your sales tax settings.

Choose your sales tax strategy
Select a strategy
Scroll down to the Sales Tax section.
Under Sales Tax strategy, choose one of the following options.
No Sales Tax
Select No Sales Tax if you do not collect sales tax from your customers.
No sales tax will be added to purchases during checkout.
Automatic tax calculation
Select Automatic tax calculation to let Stripe calculate the correct sales tax based on the customer's location.
The applicable tax is calculated automatically during checkout according to your Stripe tax configuration.
Please note: It is your responsibility to ensure that your tax configuration complies with the tax laws and regulations in the countries where you sell. If you use automatic tax calculation, make sure your Stripe Tax settings are configured correctly.
Choose how prices are displayed
Select a tax display strategy
Under Price display, choose how you want prices to appear during checkout.
Show prices including tax
Prices are displayed including any applicable sales tax.
Customers will see the total price they are expected to pay.
Show prices excluding tax
Prices are displayed excluding sales tax.
Any applicable tax is added as a separate line item in the summary.
Save your changes
Once you've configured your sales tax settings, click Save.
Your changes will apply to all future purchases.

Lumant uses your selected countries together with your sales tax settings to determine how taxes are handled during checkout.
Once everything is configured, you'll be able to download tax and sales reports to help prepare your tax filings and keep track of collected taxes. These reports are intended as a reporting aid and do not replace professional tax or legal advice.
