Testing your checkout allows you to verify that customers can complete a purchase successfully and that your payment, tax, and product settings are configured correctly.
In this guide, we'll show you how to perform a complete test purchase.
Create your test payment link
Go to products
Click here to go to the Products page.
Select a product
Open the product you want to use for testing.
Navigate to prices
Then navigate to the Prices tab.
Create a test price
Click Create Price.
Complete the following information:
Name
Enter a name for the price.
Access Type
Select Secret to create a link nobody can see.
Select price type
Select One time payment.
Add an amount
Enter a price of at least $0.50.
Create the price
Once you've completed the fields, click Save.
Complete a purchase
Copy your sales link
Click Copy Sales Link.
This copies the checkout URL to your clipboard.
Go to the sales page
Open the sales link in an Incognito or Private Browsing window.
Please note: Do not open the checkout in the same browser session where you are signed in to Lumant. Using an Incognito or Private Browsing window ensures that you experience the checkout the same way as a customer.
Complete a test purchase
Fill in the checkout form.
You must use an email address that is different from the one associated with your Lumant account.
Complete the purchase as a customer would.
What's next?
Once the purchase has been completed successfully, you can verify that:
The payment was processed successfully.
The customer received the expected confirmation emails.
The purchase appears correctly in your Lumant account.
Any automations, integrations, or webhooks were triggered as expected.
If everything looks correct, you're ready to start accepting live orders.
