End an automation when a customer joins a community

Learn how to automatically remove a contact from an automation when they join a specific community.

When a contact joins a specific community, you can automatically remove that contact from an automation.

This is useful when the automation is no longer relevant once the customer has been given access to the community.

In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to configure an exit condition based on community enrollment.

Add an exit condition

Select your automation

For this guide, we'll use an existing automation as an example.

If you'd rather create a new one, follow the guide Create your first automation.

Click Add Exit Condition

Inside your automation, click Add Exit Condition.

This is where you choose when a contact should automatically leave the automation.

Select Community enrollment

Choose Community enrollment as the exit condition.

This means the automation will end for a contact as soon as they join the selected community.

Select a community

Choose the community that should remove a contact from the automation.

Whenever a contact joins this community, they will automatically leave the automation.

This can happen through a purchase, a manual enrollment, or any other method you use to grant access.

Click Save

Once you've selected your community, click Save in the top right corner.

Your changes will be saved immediately.

Your exit condition has been added

Your automation is now configured to start automatically whenever a new contact joins the selected contact list.
